It opens on a Tokyo morning, the Toyosu Fish Market sushi line and the Rainbow Bridge, pretend like this where I’ve always lived: the Gonna Go to Japan longing finally arrived on the LP that was partly recorded on Shinkansen. It closes at home, a San Diego sunset and a green flash that matches your iris, Moonlight Beach by name without naming it.
The chorus is future tense without a guarantee: stick around, a little house, a little happy family. It echoes the plant-parent rehearsal of Getting Easier on MÖB, but here it’s invitation, not anxiety. On an album about motion, this is the pause that says the life you’re building isn’t finished, and that’s the good news.
