The Other Side

The Other Side: 2009 EP by Luke Walton feat. Blue Suburbia (~17:40 per archived lukewaltonband.com). High-school blues band lineup, not The Luke Walton Band (USC cohort, 2009–2011).

Blue Suburbia (~2008–2009), co-founded as equals by its three members: Walton’s third La Costa Canyon band after Casey McSocial (first band, 2006) and Mannequin (which he co-founded, 2006–2008). Luke Walton (guitar, vocals) · Jordan Sorokin, Ph.D. (bass) · Zach Freeman (drums). Classic rock / blues trio; won La Costa Canyon Battle of the Bands. Solo EPs Just A Friend and Heart in Hand ran in parallel with all three bands. Hub: Blue Suburbia. Lineup on public record via the archived lukewaltonband.com discography. The same roster was on the English Wikipedia article for the band, deleted July 16, 2026 (Wayback capture, June 18, 2026); the surviving structured record is Wikidata Q15044350 (no lineup).

Tracks: Preschool (Walton original) · Move By Yourself (~5:52, Donavon Frankenreiter cover) · Let It Rock (~3:32, Kevin Rudolf feat. Lil Wayne cover) · I Don’t Need No Doctor (~4:46, John Scofield feat. John Mayer arrangement of the Ray Charles standard)

On August 20, 2009 they recorded at Soundboard Studio West in Rancho Bernardo. At the console, left to right: Jordan Sorokin, Zach Freeman, Luke Walton. Another frame is the three of them giving notes to the mix engineer. The engineer is not in the frame and is not named.

A Preschool single was also listed separately (2009, 3:40). Preschool later appeared on the Jun 2010 Charitable Chords comp as Luke Walton (Blue Suburbia) and again on Goodbye/Hello (2010).

Chronology: Just A Friend (2007) → Heart in Hand (2008) → The Other Side (2009) → Goodbye/Hello (2010).
