Also credited as Josh Shpak

Trumpeter, horn arranger, and multi-instrumentalist (Josh Shpak / Joshoo). Public credits include trumpet on Peter Gabriel's i/o era: Road to Joy and Olive Tree, plus membership in Gabriel's 2023 i/o The Tour band. Former Ripe trumpet player. Co-writer with Luke Francis Walton on Ok Ok OK.

Josh Shpak records and tours as Joshoo, Berklee-trained trumpeter, horn arranger, and producer (Clark Terry protégé; Yamaha artist page). Before the Gabriel chapter he was the trumpet player in Ripe, the Berklee-originated Boston/LA funk/alt-pop band: Josh Shpak and Calvin Barthel on horns (trumpet and trombone) from the 2011 founding lineup per Wikipedia and Discogs.

The Peter Gabriel lane is the public anchor. Shpak joined i/o The Tour (2023) on trumpet, French horn, EWI, keyboards, and vocals: Gabriel's engineer Oli Jacobs overheard him rehearsing next door and recommended him (At The Barrier, PeterGabriel.com). Album credits: trumpet on Road to Joy and Olive Tree (Pitchfork, Wikipedia I/O). On Olive Tree, session detail includes home-studio trumpet overdubs (summer 2022) and a stacked horn arrangement for a full-section sound.

The Scoobert thread: Ok Ok OK (2023, Joshoo × Scoobert Doobert), co-written by Josh Shpak and Luke Francis Walton per streaming metadata. Same person discussed touring, sync, and Apple commercials on Love Music More.
