With John Cowan Partial
Vocalist and bassist, New Grass Revival; touring bass player for The Doobie Brothers (rejoined 2010). Backstage on Lara Johnston band / Doobie Brothers dates, left to right: John Cowan, Lara Johnston, Gabe Rudner, Luke Walton.
John Cowan is an American vocalist and bassist known for New Grass Revival and a long association with The Doobie Brothers: touring bass from 1993–1995 and again from 2010 after Skylark’s stroke (Wikipedia).
Luke Walton met Cowan on Lara Johnston tour dates: Lara’s father is Tom Johnston (Doobie Brothers co-founder). Luke played guitar in Lara’s band on Doobie Brothers support dates roughly 2012–2015; archive backstage photo documents Cowan with Luke, Lara, and keys player Gabe Rudner.
A second photo, outside Fort Knox Studios, is undated. Left to right: John Cowan, Ed Toth, Gabe Rudner, Luke Walton, Lara Johnston. Toth is the Doobie Brothers drummer. He has no page on this site.
