With Bear Attack

Bear Attack is Eric Radloff's band, a USC Thornton group that has since broken up. The music is still up. Luke Walton worked the whole album Shapes (Apr 27, 2012): additional engineering, recording, and post production. The Bandcamp pane prints that as additional engineering with Leland Cox and Matias Mora. Los Angeles Times (March 20, 2012) covered the band. Pretty Little Liars used "August" and, later, "The Backpack Song."

Bear Attack is Eric Radloff's band. The Bandcamp about line names Mia Minichiello, Eric Radloff, Brandon Bae, Nick Campbell, and Logan Shrewsbury. Nick Campbell (bass) and Logan Shrewsbury (drums) are the rhythm section on The Luke Walton Band's Goodbye/Hello. Peter Lee Johnson, that band's violinist, plays violin on Shine. The writing credit on Shapes is Radloff/Minichiello, except August and Mother, which are Eric Radloff alone. The about line names both Eric Radloff and Mia Minichiello.

The band broke up. The records are still up. Their YouTube channel (@BearAttackRawr, joined April 10, 2011) still says: "Hi! We're Bear Attack. If you like our videos, you can find our original music on iTunes, Spotify, and Bandcamp!" The channel also lists Bandcamp, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and a vlog channel.

Luke worked *all of Shapes*, not one song: additional engineering, recording, and post production. The Bandcamp credits pane (April 27, 2012) prints his name on one line: Additional Engineering by Leland Cox, Matias Mora, and Luke Walton**. The same pane names other roles he is not claiming over: recorded by Aaron Field at Firehouse Studios in Pasadena (November 19–20, 2011); produced by Bear Attack and Chris Sampson; mixed by Martin Walters; mastered by Andrew Garver. It is not a songwriting or production credit.

David Greenwald in the Los Angeles Times (March 20, 2012) calls them a five-piece of USC students. Guitarist Brandon Bae was in the jazz program. The other four met as popular-music majors after that program started in fall 2009. The piece says "August" played on Monday night's Pretty Little Liars season finale, their television-soundtrack debut, and that Shapes was a Kickstarter EP due that spring. The article does not name Walton.

USC Today (G. Bruce Smith, March 10, 2016) names the same five: Eric Radloff, Mia Minichiello, Nick Campbell, Logan Shrewsbury, and Brandon Bae (studio/jazz guitar). It calls them first-crop graduates of the class of 2013, says Shapes was a six-song Kickstarter EP, and says Pretty Little Liars featured three of its songs. The piece dates the EP to summer 2013. Bandcamp dates the release April 27, 2012. Two of the three songs are located: August (Times) and The Backpack Song (TuneFind and the wiki). The third title is not named. The same article's Mora Mora lineup is Matias Mora, Leland Cox, Cary Singer, Riley Knapp, and Nick Campbell. Cary Singer later produced 5G BABY. Riley records as RKCB with Casey Barth (SoundBetter). Brandon Woodward's SoundBetter profile credits FEiN, RKCB, and LostBoyCrow. Woodward was RKCB's touring drummer.

The Backpack Song is track 5 of Shapes, a later cue. TuneFind places it in season 3, episode 12, "The Lady Killer" (August 28, 2012). The Pretty Little Liars wiki Music Guide lists it there, and again under the episode "'Til Death Do Us Part." Both placements are the band's songs.

The April 21, 2013 Troubadour bill prints the classmates' bios. Nick Campbell and Logan Shrewsbury each call themselves a founding member. Campbell says they licensed "The Backpack Song" to the show. Mia Minichiello says three songs, "most notably" The Backpack Song in the third-season finale. Eric Radloff's bio says several songs. The Times names August as the finale debut. TuneFind's Backpack Song cue is episode 12, "The Lady Killer," not that finale. The wiki's season-finale list for March 19, 2012 ("UnmAsked") does not name Bear Attack.
