OKAME is the post-CHAI project of twin frontwomen MANA and KANA, launched in 2025 as a new musical chapter built around “revolution through music.” Japanese press has described the project as a fresh departure from their previous band sound, with a genre-crossing approach that rebuilds their pop sensibility in a new context.

After CHAI’s 2024 breakup, MANA and KANA again took up the mic and instruments and started OKAME in September 2025Rooftop frames it as ex.CHAIのMANA・KANAによる新プロジェクトOKAME; MARZEL as 元CHAIの双子フロントマンMANA・KANAによる新音楽プロジェクト“OKAME” pursuing ノスタルポップ (Nostalpop). A SCENE has MANA on the OKAME name and the meaning 音楽で革命を: revolution through music: and on twin identity: born as twins, raised as twins, succeeded as twins.

おかしなきもち (“Okashina Kimochi”) was the first single, digital release October 1, 2025: with the paid fan club Futago Club launching alongside the project (NiEW). NiEW’s MANAKANA special covers the broader next-steps story from CHAI’s end to OKAME.

Luke Francis Walton mixed this track and the full DEBUT album (Feb 2026). Release metadata credits him as mixing engineer on OKAME songs including this one, 照れないで, and ハートの中で; no Japanese press article found so far names “OKAME + Scoobert Doobert” in the same editorial writeup, the thread runs CHAI production → MANA/KANA world → mix credits on streaming metadata. Adjacent: a PR TIMES KOMAGOME release lists 作曲 Scoobert Doobert, MANA & KANA and links the official OKAME profile in the same release block (KOMAGOME: WE CAN’T DOLL).
