The setup is broke-but-free: a negative balance, of course, that’s pretty obvious, and strutting around like Luffy by the ocean. One Piece as posture, not plot recap. The chorus is idle joy, feel my hair getting bleached by the sun, with do do do as the actual activity.

The sting is in verse two. A friend made his first million, checking out his allocations across diversification / good depression medications. Rich, medicated, diversified, and absent. Scoobert is the one on the sand with no money, asking why did no one else come to the beach?

Same coastal idle as a song to quit your job to and a preview of Moonlight Beach, though KŌAN A keeps the boardwalk as nothing-to-do on purpose before the later record commits to Encinitas. Pairs with Let’s Move to the Top of a Mountain: movement against wandering.
