Ally to Good, Nightmare to You / Goku or Jesus

Scoobert Doobert · Dragon Ball $d · 2020 · From Dragon Ball $d

Dragon Ball $d Goku savior speech, hope of the universe, ally to good nightmare to you: then who would you choose, Goku or Jesus?

Listen: SpotifyApple Music

Track seven on Dragon Ball $d, feat. Nick Belcher. Luke wrote, played, mixed, and mastered; Belcher sings, his second of three on the LP after Vegeta’s Lament / Lord Frieza / Super Saiyan. Same Phineas and Ferb belter, here scoring Goku as messiah rather than Vegeta as opera victim.

The verse is Goku’s canon savior speech to Frieza (I am the hope of the universe… ally to good, nightmare to you), earnest in the source material and absurd sung straight in a bedroom hip-hopera. Then the chorus turns it into a bracket: who would you choose? / Goku or Jesus? Twice, no resolution. Stoner theology meets Toonami christology, and the song refuses to pick. It pairs neatly with Vegeta’s you’re better than me Kakarot on the previous track: the prince surrenders, then Goku claims the cosmic job title.

Next: My Dad Sucks, with Gohan energy (a fake Spotify collab).

Written, performed, mixed, and mastered by Luke Francis Walton. Featured vocals by Nick Belcher. Album art by Grizzard Graphics.

Lyrics
I am the hope of the universe
I am the answer to all living things
That cry out for peace
I am protector of the innocent
I am the light in the darkness
I am the truth
Ally to good
Nightmare to you

In the battle of the fate of the world
Who would you choose?
Goku or Jesus?
Goku or Jesus?
In the battle of the fate of the world
Who would you choose?
Goku or Jesus?
Goku or Jesus?
