Listen: Apple Music

Lot 17, four-song alternative EP by Kerri Medders (April 17, 2017; Apple Music: ~14 minutes, ℗ Kerri Medders). Texas-born singer-songwriter and actress (SEAL Team, Alexa & Katie); follows earlier Etched (2015) and the 2016 single Fall Away, where Pop Culturalist has Kerri naming Luke Walton and Brandon Woodward as her producers who also double as my band members. Kerri framed Lot 17 as a frozen-in-time snapshot of age 17: Teenplicity on the vulnerable sophomore EP and an ‘80s-leaning palette (especially Slipping and Don’t Give In), with a Whitney Houston How Will I Know cover as tribute, not imitation.

Authorship: In Ouch! Magazine, Kerri says every song on Lot 17 except the cover was co-written with producers Brandon Woodward and Luke Francis: Kerri’s Luke Francis is Luke Francis Walton (formal PRO/credits name). Cry, Cry from the same era is credited “produced by FEID aka Luke Walton and Brandon Woodward” on the later Do Not Reply soundtrack page: same person, shortened in 2017–2019 press, not the NBA coach.

The EP cycle helped launch a High School Nation tour where Medders opened for Plain White T’s and Drake Bell in front of 90,000+ (per artist bio). Don’t Give In later appeared on the Do Not Reply (2019) film score, where Medders starred.
