Unwhole
Exist Elsewhere 413: lock you in my room, obsession on the wall: weapon only your hands control; dig deeper, I'm just unwhole.
Listen: SpotifyApple Music
Track three on 413 (August 2, 2013), between Can’t Fall and Genesis. If Can’t Fall refuses love from a place of damage, Unwhole clings to it from the same wound. The opening is unsettling on purpose: I wanna lock you in my room / cuz you can’t hurt me if I do: love as captivity, dependency stated as biology (you are the air I breathe).
The bridge names what the verses circle: you’re my obsession, the only showpiece on the wall / and I’m a weapon only your hands can control. Then the title lands, not as a plea to be fixed but as a confession: dig a little deeper and you’ll see that I’m just unwhole. Asking to be seen as incomplete is a stranger, more honest move than asking to be made whole.
On 413 the two heartbreak songs are mirror images: Can’t Fall won’t show up, Unwhole won’t let go. Opposite postures, same Thornton-era wound, years before FEiN sharpened need-as-weapon into satire.

Lyrics
I wanna lock you in my room Cuz you can't hurt me if I do I can't let you get away In my arms you've got to stay You are the air I breathe What will keep me alive if you leave? Oh Don't let me down I need you now And you need me Yeah I've got to know If you'll let me go Cuz I can't see Ooo Ooo Ooo All night I wonder where you are If you've been colliding with another heart I feel it when you're next to me There's somewhere you'd rather be Won't you let me drift along Cuz I can't bear it when you're gone gone gone Oh Don't let me down I need you now And you need me Yeah I've got to know If you'll let me go Cuz I can't see Ooo Ooo Ooo Ooo Ooo Ooo You're my obsession The only showpiece on the wall And I'm a weapon Only your hands can control Ooo Ooo Oh yeah For you I would die I'll sell myself up And give you my life Oh yeah Yeah oh Oh no Don't hear me cry Just dig a little deeper And you'll see that I'm just unwhole You'll see that I'm just unwhole See that I'm just unwhole
