A New Word Every Day
Private. No account. Nothing leaves your phone.
A privacy-first iPhone vocabulary app and Home Screen widget. One rare, useful English word a day in beautiful variable type and a palette you choose — no account, no server, no tracking.
How it works
- Install the app and add the widget to your Home Screen or Lock Screen.
- Calibrate on first launch with a short swipe deck (Know / Still learning) so words match your level.
- Learn daily — star words you want to keep, study them optionally, or export to Anki.
Built for discovery
- Home Screen widget. Small, medium, large, extra-large, and Lock Screen sizes — your typeface, palette, accent hue, and definition density. The widget is the product.
- Star from the widget. Save a word to Practice with the in-widget star (iOS 17). No need to open the app.
- Swipe onboarding. A short Tinder-style deck calibrates your difficulty band on first launch — entirely on-device.
- Optional study. Starred words can be reviewed with FSRS spaced repetition, or exported to Anki as CSV whenever you like.
Privacy-first by design
No analytics, no ads, no network calls at runtime. Stars, difficulty, theme, and review schedules live in a local App Group container shared only between the app and its widget. The bundled word list is public domain (CC0).
